It's a Wonderful Life

... I am excited (and thankful) for the continued growth, maturity and heart of our church family. Through this last year, many new families are a part of the Sunday morning Worship. Of those attending, many have chosen to get involved in the dozens of ministries, activities and outreaches of the church. The youth ministries, Camp Sonshine, mission trips, Bible studies, Freedom Celebration (& fireworks). Vacation Bible School, Celebrate Recovery, Seniors meals and a whole lot more have filled the year with hope and compassion and a genuine vision of Jesus. Thank you!

I am also very excited about the ‘leadership changes’ here at Whittington beginning in 2026. Over the last 2 years, the Elders and Deacons of the church have been in prayer, asking the Lord to reveal His long term pastoral plan for Whittington Church. A huge part of that plan was answered for myself and the leadership team as Pastor Bob Pankey left his position with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and answered a call to become Lead Pastor at Whittington...and was voted into the role beginning in January 2026. Pastor Greg will continue in the position of Administrative Pastor and I will assume the role of Associate Pastor (Bob’s former role) with duties including teaching, counseling, visitation and preaching once a month. For me, this transition is an answer to prayer in that I know the church will be in ‘good hands’ and will continue to move forward in a mighty way for the Kingdom.

I have often said that the Lord has more ahead for us at Whittington than we have ever imagined. The new year will bring much blessing - more baptisms, more families, more ministry opportunities, possibly a second Sunday morning service to accommodate the Sunday Morning attendance - and most importantly, a powerful anointing of the Presence and work of the Holy Spirit. We are only just beginning.

So yes - every day is a ‘wonderful life’ walking with Jesus and His family. I pray that 2025, with whatever challenges you have faced, has been a good and growing year for you. And I pray that the coming year will see the greatest outpouring of revival we have ever experienced - not just for our church but our area and our country.
