The HELPS Ministry of Whittington Church serves the physical needs of Southern Illinois as a means by which spiritual needs can be met as well.  On the 2nd Wednesday of every  month, food, clothing and household items are given away to anyone in need starting at 10 AM.  This give-away is available to anyone in attendance on these days.  In addition, guests are offered an opportunity to talk with a prayer counselor.

In addition to our monthly give-away, we also have a seasonal Christmas give-away.  This give-away involves a much larger food amount and Christmas presents for children of families in need.  Families must sign up in October in order to take part in the Christmas food and gift give-away at Christmas.  Interested families can call the church office in early fall to find out the sign-up dates for Christmas.

If you have items you would like to donate to the HELPS Ministry, contact the church office or bring the items to the HELPS building at Whittington Church and place them in the blue double doors.  The following items are accepted:

-furniture
-appliances
-household items
-books
-electronics
